Shepherd’s Men is committed to raising and protecting what we believe to be America’s greatest Military asset: the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coast Guardsmen who protect the freedoms that ensure our greatness as a nation. We stand strong in our belief that each person who wears the cloth of this nation should have an opportunity to live in peace and wellness, while enjoying the rich blessings that they fought so hard to defend.
Our nation has engaged in a great conflict for many years, constantly asking the most from our giving heroes. The American warfighters have performed beyond expectations by accomplishing each mission heroically, only to now find themselves on a battlefield in their homes and heads. Our heroes have returned from combat with injuries unseen to the naked eye, but are every bit as debilitating as injuries sustained in an austere environment.
Each and every day, 22 veterans make a permanent decision to end their own lives. To Shepherd’s Men, that is unacceptable and the team has made it their ongoing mission to fight this sobering statistic. We must work collectively to bring the 22 men and women that die every day, down to zero.
Shepherd’s Men is honored to partner with the SHARE Military Initiative at Shepherd Center. It is our belief that there is no program in the United States delivering the same comprehensive care that is produced on a daily basis through the innovative programming at SHARE.
If you are a veteran, either active duty or separated, please know that SHARE works. Over 350 of your brothers and sisters have had their lives positively affected by the treatment received at SHARE. Traumatic Brain Injury and Post Traumatic Stress are injuries brought on by the horrors of war. If left untreated, these illnesses can lead to a myriad of other issues. Shepherd’s Men believe that a true sign of strength is committing oneself to wellness, and exercising the same commitment and fortitude used to claim victory in any battle. We encourage anyone who may be struggling to be proactive and reach out to someone who can assist them. This page can provide some direction and resources that can be utilized in a time of need.
Win the day, win the fight, win the battle…
