Joe DeAngelo: A Visionary Supporter of Shepherd’s Men

Joe DeAngelo stands as a true champion for veterans, investing his time, resources, and innovative leadership to advance the mission of Shepherd’s Men and the SHARE Military Initiative at Shepherd Center. Since joining the Shepherd’s Men team in 2015, Joe has played a pivotal role in raising awareness and much-needed funds to support veterans and their families, enabling access to the life-changing care provided by the SHARE Military Initiative.
Joe’s impactful support began with his leadership at HD Supply, where, as Chairman, President, and CEO, he made supporting Shepherd’s Men a priority. His leadership helped raise thousands of dollars to fund the SHARE Military Initiative’s work in treating post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injuries. Now retired, complementing his service with the Shepherd’s Men, Joe is active in the Industrial Tech sector along with trauma recovery, resiliency and outdoor healing. His forward-thinking and compassionate approach continues to make him a key figure in inspiring others to rally behind Shepherd’s Men’s mission.
Veterans have sacrificed immeasurably in service to our country, often placing the needs of others above their own. Sadly, this selflessness can lead many to neglect their own mental health and believe others are more deserving of care. Speaking directly to those who hesitate to seek help, Joe says, “You owe it to yourself to do it, and you deserve it. You fundamentally deserve it… You’re worthy of this.” His words reflect his deep respect for their sacrifices and serve as a heartfelt reminder that every veteran is entitled to the healing and hope the SHARE Military Initiative offers.
Currently, Joe is working on an exciting new project that will greatly impact SHARE patients—details will be shared soon—but this effort exemplifies his ongoing commitment to creating meaningful change. His generosity, leadership, and vision have been instrumental in not only advancing our mission but also inspiring others to join the movement.
We are proud to have Joe as part of the Shepherd’s Men family and deeply grateful for his unwavering dedication. Together, we are proving that with the right resources, support, and community, we can change lives.
